Call for Projects: Create Atypical Tourist Accommodation in

If you’re a private project owner or local authority in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region looking to develop an innovative tourist accommodation, this call for projects offers funding of up to €200,000. The scheme encourages unique concepts that provide immersive experiences for visitors. Applications must be submitted by 30 November 2025, and the project must maintain operations for at least seven years.

Objectives

This initiative aims to fund the creation of atypical tourist accommodations that integrate new tourism concepts and offer genuine immersive experiences. The focus is on enhancing the region’s attractiveness by supporting innovative projects that can draw more visitors and contribute to local economic development.

Beneficiaries

Eligible beneficiaries include:

  • Private project owners (companies registered in the Commercial and Companies Register and associations registered in the National Register of Associations)
  • Local authorities and their groupings

Excluded from eligibility are traditional tourist accommodations such as guest houses, standard hotels, and farm gîtes.

Eligible operations

Funding covers a range of investments necessary for establishing the accommodation:

  • Structural work and interior fittings (bedrooms, kitchens, common areas)
  • Roofing and facade improvements
  • Energy efficiency and sanitation upgrades
  • Major fixed equipment related to the accommodation’s purpose

Not eligible are land acquisitions, furniture, and promotional expenses.

Eligibility conditions

To qualify for funding, applicants must:

  • Conduct a project study by an external service provider, which may receive co-financing from the region
  • Maintain the accommodation activity for at least seven years
  • Operate for a minimum of five months per year, covering at least two seasons
  • Ensure online visibility and booking capabilities
  • Respond to surveys from the regional tourism agency
  • Display a plaque acknowledging the regional aid prominently on the building.

Grant amount

The grant covers up to 20% of eligible expenses, with a maximum limit of €200,000. This funding can significantly support the establishment of innovative tourist accommodations in the region. Applications are open until November 30, 2025.

Can I apply if my project is a guest house?

No, guest houses and traditional tourist accommodations are not eligible for this funding. The project must be an atypical tourist accommodation.

How long do I need to keep the accommodation open?

You must maintain the accommodation activity for at least seven years and operate for a minimum of five months each year, covering at least two seasons.

What types of expenses are covered by the grant?

Eligible expenses include structural work, interior fittings, energy upgrades, and major fixed equipment necessary for the accommodation. However, furniture and promotional costs are not covered.

Is there a specific format for the project study?

Yes, the project study must be conducted by an external service provider. Details on the required format can be obtained from Région Auvergne.
