Investment Support for Decarbonization of Maritime Transport: Projects in

The funding covers three thematic areas:

  • Direct Decarbonization of Ships: Investments in innovative onboard equipment for existing ships and the acquisition of clean or energy-efficient vessels.
  • Industrial Investments for Ship Decarbonization: Projects aimed at enhancing European production capacities, including the establishment of new factories or production lines for low-carbon maritime solutions.
  • Port Investments: Development of port infrastructure for alternative fuel supply and shore power systems necessary for decarbonizing maritime operations.

  • A minimum technology readiness level (TRL) of 7 at project start and 9 at completion.
  • Minimum project budgets of:
  • €300,000 for SMEs
  • €1 million for large enterprises.
